Been thinking about the MAlign angle, not at all worried about SLN technolog levels; they seem to figure the wolves will take down the bison in the meantime, and that they've already got the tools they need against any conventionally armed force outside of the GA. So they need to conserve their forces to shoot the wolves instead. Repaired or upgraded shipyards strengthen both wolves and bison.stewart wrote:
There is a good argument that Pearl Harbor brutally cleared the way for the CV to be the primary capital ship of WWII instead of the BB. Battles of Coral Sea and Midway emphasized the point.
One option is to let the SLN tie up resources trying to modernize their reserve fleet.
If new construction is targeted (or new construction yards) it would potentially force the SLN to rely on the slow and obsolete.

I think that likely makes shipyards a primary target for all three corners of the triangle, whether there are a bunch of SD's moored or mothballed nearby or not. Be interesting to see where the SLN would try to get missiles for those empty ships if the shipyards which would have normally onloaded the missiles has been on the end of a big ka-boom in the meantime.
