I would be ok if one day the tree cats became victims of mass genocide by the Renaissance Factor. At least that would add some additional color to the story-line.

As wrong as it is for a junior officer to criticize their superiors, I find your troll-fu rather weak and obvious. You might need some more time in the simulators to practice it or to work on a new martial art.

I liked Highridge, I like Firebrand the best and that Haven guy Giancola (sp?) He was great, but that's not the point of this thread. I suppose my least liked character is Estele Matsuko. But every book needs an idiot.

Lordskimper,
Huh? I had to read your post twice. Rub my eyes then read again. I think you're just playing the Sir Horace roll of walking into bars and looking a fight. Won't get one here!

Excuse me?

ETA: No, cthia, you're right. Estelle Matsuko's awesome speaks for itself, and clearly anyone who doesn't see it is beyond hope of seeing the light.

He's been mentioned but I didn't care too much for Klaus Hauptman either though he has since redeemed himself, sort of.
But Stacy...still looking her phone number!

Also didn't like the woman passed around the Young household. What was one of her many name? How she could betray her fellow comrades is beyond me. And in the manner that she did. Cathy Montaign is owed a case of Old Tillman from me.
And the day the Ballroom catches up to her...please let it be the first chapter...and draw it out..
sloooowly.

You're talking about Elaine Komandorsky, aka Georgia Young nee Sakristos, who helped engineer Pavel's demise because she hated her guts, only to fall when Honor's friends took her out in order to weaken the High Ridge government. They didn't know she played a role in providing the tip that led Honor's friends to Denver Summervale, but they did know that she was the brains behind the smear campaign against Honor and Hamish, so a search was conducted into her background which turned up spme serious dirt.

People do what they need to do to survive. When people show up with power drills, pruning shears and battery cables and offer you couple of options about how "our discussion is going to go" the part where you get to leave alive and with a pile of money probably some appeal to you. However her activities afterward, as Komandorski, suggest that she isn't a very nice person.

kzt,
You have a point. Hard to say what you'll do when your life is on the line. I think Zilwicki gave that as a reason for allowing her a day or so headstart. But like Lady Montaign and I...it's thin ice. I'd like to think that I know myself and if I were a slave under those conditions the loyalty I'd feel for my group, my family...and make no bones about it, all they had were each other, would be intensely protective. They endured atrocities, yes, but they endured them together! Do you remember Carolyn Wolcott's friend? How being so beautiful had affected him...but no way he could ever have become a traitor. On the contrary! What was his name?
