Charis and Co. have an awful lot of irons in the fire. They are invading church and church allies territories from multiple directions, soon the areas they conquer will be hostile territories requiring occupation troops, they still have to keep sufficient security at home to defend vs terrorists, etc etc. They don't have unlimited manpower. Sooner or later, the manpower shortage is going to become critical enough to have a major impact on operations. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I expect it to be sooner rather than later.

Since the Siddarmark entered the war, with its tenth of millions population, the poroblem is not a simple manpower shortage. The problem is the logistic: the shortage for both sides is the ability to transport troops and accomodate them in field.
The actual problem is a shortage of well-trained workforce for industrialisation, but the RFC mantain that currently it isn't a critical problem, and the Charis still have a sufficient number. ------------------------------
Oh well, if shortening the front is what the Germans crave, Let's shorten it to very end - the length of Fuhrer's grave. (Red Army lyrics from 1945) |

The need to advance into hostile territory is a fallacy IMO. Defeating the armies that are attacking is key. Let the other side extend it's logistics and their defeat is much easier. The Temple and the Go4 lose when they can not win the battles. The eventual defeat will probably be by a naval lead invasion not slogging across thousands of miles of hostile territory. Defeat will be from a loss of faith in the CoGA because of Clyntahn and the corruption. A propoganda War and the broadsheets will continue to lay the groundwork for Reformation. Having more countries defect into the Empire Of Charis's sphere of influence will be the beginning of the end. Turn Silkiah, defeat Dohlar and bring Desnair to it's knees. Make South Harchong secede from the North - Then send a majority of the Harchong Army back home with their weapons and newfound knowledge. I am not young enough to know everything!

In general, I agree there's little or no need to occupy CoGA-loyal territory. The one potentially problematic exception is the western Siddarmarkian provinces that the AoG overran. Between the Inquisition murdering Reformists in job lots and Temple Loyalists fleeing from the rest of Siddarmark, that region is going to be pretty much entirely inhabited by Temple Loyalists by the time the ICA and RSA arrive. This region is going to have to be militarily occupied, and if a full-scale guerrilla war gets underway, things will get very ugly very quickly. |

It's going to require more than that. The Temple needs to be brought to its knees too. There's a reason the King Harolds are being built, to take the attack to the source of the problem, the current leadership of the CoGA. Plus what InvisibleBison said. The western Siddarmark provinces need to be dealt with and occupied or they will be a very contentious source of problems later on. |

There is no manpower shortage at this time. Within a year's time the Alliance will probably field over a million men, armed with modern weapons. The chokepoint at the moment is that they have more men than they can successfully arm, which as Dilandu pointed out, is due in part to a shortage of trained manpower in the industrial sector, plus, I might add, the need to add more facilities to do the manufacturing.
I want to weigh in on this idea that there is not a need to occupy hostile territory. I agree that there should be no long term occupation. And there will be no need to occupy Desnair at all. Harry them out of Haven and have a blocking force large enough to be sure they don't attempt a return. However, Dohlar may need to be over run if Sharpfield can't get in there with the navy soon enough to force a surrender. Also, the allies will need to over run Zion, whether it is done by marching on the temple from the land side or if it is done amphibiously. You simply can't leave the current temple management in place and consider the war over with. No way do the allies stop at the border between the Temple Lands and the border states. ![]() Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

There's another field army that will become available shortly namely the Coursadian Occupation Forces and the reformed Royal Coursandian Army. This IIRC numbers a combined 90,000 soldiers (60,000 ICMC) and (30,000 RCoA). If they recruit heavily and train over the northern winter. The could have a force approaching 120,000+ soldiers. The recruits could also include the soldiers that were demobilized after the Coursandine surrender.

We know from LAMA that Koryn Gahrvai would like to get into a regular army posting. Perhaps he can take charge of organizing, training and leading an army of his old vets. Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

Yup. He and Windshear could form the Corisande First Dragoons also known as Her Royal Highness's Own Dragoons. Irys' Own Marauders will wreak havoc in Dohlahr. |

Hi PeterZ, Don;
Guys, again its going to take awhile to train the Corisandans, and Windshare's cavalry are definitely not dragoons, so they'll take longer to even understand the concept, given how mindless most cavalry are. ![]() Currently we have something near 360,000 ICA combat troops in theater, plus almost 400,000 RSA riflemen who should be able to deal with the MHoGatA sometime this summer, after they destroy the remnants of the AoG under Wyrshym and Kaitswyrth this month or the next; given how far south the Daivyn and Aivahstyn are [so winter is ending earlier], Symkyn should eliminate Kaitswyrth soon. Then it will still take a couple of month's for the MHoGatA to reach the front, and who knows what the ICA may have by that time. ![]() L
