Oh, snippet posts....We search and search we're yearning...
from thread to thread and all of RFC's posts...
our patience gone and all our calm's a churning
'Ti's we must bide and you we desire the most

Oh come ye back when RFC's returned
Or when he's bored and seeks his relief
'Ti's here we wait with posts to be debated
Oh snippet post, oh snippets ease our grief

So she can join in discussion of the books where a transexual android gets aroused by the sight of naked men and later has sex with one of the whores in the whorehouse run by one of the other major characters, in between lopping off heads right left and centre and impaling someone he really doesn't like to the wall with a dagger because of the atrocities their side has been committing, all reported in moderate detail?

I'm sure she'll love it. But if she reads the books why should these, expurgated, navy songs be a problem?

Poker's original song (now edited) was much dirtier. Personally I'm of a view that people can be overprotective of kids re swearwords - they know them all by age 11 anyway, even if they have a sheltered upbringing (unless maybe home-schooled, never allowed out and not allowed unsupervised internet access). But I could see SWM and PeterZ's point with the original version.

It's in the rules to keep it PG-13, and I agreed the second Jody was ugh, beyond PG 13 so I edited it out. We are mostly self policing in these forums and editing a post that offends others for such a reason is just common decency.

I agree completely !!

My father used to say "Common sense isn't that common!".

I can add to that by saying that I've found that "common decency isn't all that common either" (unfortunately).

Oh well, I guess I'm showing my age

The only thing to which "common" is prefixed which is not, in fact, as rare as "rocking-horse turds", is the "Common Cold"

I know some do not visit the Honorverse forum so as this news contains info on Safehold I'm re-posting here:

sawa wrote:Here you can find a recording of David's Q&A during Falkon 2014 in Poland.

Also during the signing, after the people wanting David's signature got what they wanted, I and some other Polish fans had the pleasure of talking with David for about half an hour. Here are some points :

1. Empire of Man no. 5 - David is waiting for John to finish the first draft.
2. Brandark's God and how he "got religion" will be probably revealed in the next Norfressa novel or it could be turned into a ~50K word novella.
3. Sahehold - David is planning to wrap up the current war in 2-3 books (including HFQ which is already turned in), than 2-3 books for the millenium visit war / resolution. There will probably be no book dealing with the Gbaba, but instead there will be an extended epilogue where we will see the end of that plotline.
4. Honorverse - the main storyline should be finished in 2-3 books. If He decides to pick it up again it will be ~30 years in the future.

Note no final war with the Gbaba book.

Enjoy, Poker
