L19 crew?

I've managed to raise all my officers to L18, thus allowing me to reach L10 on my components (the legendary ones, at least), but I've noticed that further promotions are still possible.

Although I have no current need to promote my officers more as it seems a waste of resources, I have to ask a few questions.

1) Does anyone know just how high officers can be promoted?

2) What benefits does it bring promoting them past L18?

There are currently no officer levels beyond 20.

That does not prevent the developers from creating them. It's literally a five minute process.

I have leveled mine to 20 just recently and have noticed a minute improvment to the departments, most noticable in the weapons. My damage per salvo went up on average 15 points.
not really worth the hundreds of thousands of metal and plasma butt in the interest in completion...

I'd save the trainers if I were you. They'll probably be useful someday.

You guys know that they are going to be releasing new sectors soon so you might want to level up any way so your ready when we get new sectors and ships.
