Back in the 50's Groucho Marx had a game show called You Bet Your Life. While asking a guest about herself:

Groucho: "Do you have any children?"

I've concluded that it's always advisable to take ownership of those mistakes .... no excuses ..... excuses tend to lead to repeating your mistakes.
