Does anyone know the status of the next Novel in this series that David and Jane are writing?

There are none in progress or contracted last time David answered a question about this. |

I might be wrong, but I believe I heard that the first 3 didn't sell as well as hoped, so the contract wasn't extended for more at this time. ******
RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships." |

At Bubonicon last month, Jane Lindskold said there weren't any more Stephanie Harrington novels under contract at this time. She's currently working on her Artimis series.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if it didn't sell well. What's selling in the YA ghetto these days is dystopias - think Hunger Games - not the kind of hard science fiction that Heinlein might have written in his juveniles. Stephanie Harrington as an adult might have sold a good deal better, because it wouldn't have been isolated in the YA ghetto. |

At least Hunger Games is marginally better than the Twilight crap.

I'm 68 and I thought the Stephanie Harrington stories were a real good read! Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

Though being able to make a house of solid gold bars would be kind of neat. |

This really saddens me. I was wondering why after 3 in a row, there was no announcement of a new book. Other than the fact I'm an Honorverse junkie, and want to read EVERYTHING, I'm really enjoying the dual-perspective of Climbs Quickly and Stephanie. Other than two short stories, we haven't read anything at all from Nimitz' point of view, and I find that really, truly fascinating.

A series from Nimitz point of view would be great as well as humorous.... I read a book many years ago that was told the story about the war from the point of view of a horse. Not just any horse but Gen. Robert E. Lee's horse. David should seriously think about about telling a story from Nimitz's point of view. Great idea.... |

Pity. I rather liked them.
As i said when the first book came out, it´s stupid to do exclusive categorising.
Sucks and sucks even more? |
