Had another guess until the hint. Y'all will have to figure this one out. Got my next set of lyrics ready though when the answer becomes apparent!

Will be busy now and the next several days, ao I must let the cat out of the bag.

For this little ditty, I had in mind ...

Andrea Jaruwalski singing it to Elvis Santino.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Okay, here's my next one, a less frequent cast member so to say, lyrics, via the hyperlink:

...starting after the sixth line, because this character has never been a back-seater. Clue: early in the chronologies.

Blast!! you got it right off. Great job! I love the scene after she's become a full fledged Marne (captain, I think) where she's sort of daring any of the navy types to step on the mat with her; I think the response was feigned shudders because them thar' RMN types are in gen'real terms... not that stupid.

Let me go and I will run, I will not be silent
All this time spent in vain, wasted years, wasted gain
All is lost, hope remains, and this war's not over
There's a light, there's the sun, taking all shattered ones
To the place we belong, and His love will conquer all...

*Trebek voice* I'm sorry, that is incorrect.

Interesting guess, though!!

Hint: it's a particular character in the wake of certain revelations.
