Future space lords, if as the condition states, all of the present set are all dead, and we only have a limited time to replace the admirals in question (8):

First Space Lord: Hamish takes Caparelli's place: he was under consideration but needed politically. Baroness Morncreek goes back to his place and someone like Honor's main accountant takes over the Exchequer.

2nd: BuPlanning & ONI: deferred decision...

Third: BuShips: Craig Warner, commanded the HMSS Hephaestus all the way back in OBS days.

Fourth: The highest ranking survivor of HMSS Weyland (because of the evacuation) takes over BuWeaps.

Fifth: BuPers: Reynaud from ACS. He likely knows more RMMC officers than anyone in the Honorverse, and is used to having to manage big flows of "something", and is well acquainted with ship types, etc. Jaruwalski becomes his personnel evaluator.

Sixth: BuTraining: Mark Sarnow. Admiral Danislav takes his place in Silesia

Seventh: BuMed: The current commander of Bassingford takes over BuMed, or if we need a named character, Alfred Harrington

Home Fleet: Yancey Parks

Okay, having ducked Patricia Givens slot..., AKA BuPlanning and ONI... I think the man for the job is Anton Zilwicki, but he's long gone towards Mesa and won't be back in time to affect ANYTHING, and he's needed in the other story lines to break open the alignment plotline.

I honestly have NO idea. Alice Truman perhaps? because she has plenty of fleet experience deploying the available ship types in a strategic theater of operations.

Where's Honor in your scheme of things? She still lives.

Other than that, I can dig your plans.

Dig? Wow, Honorverse hipp-ese.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Shooting everyone.

What, you expected Honor to sit out a major shooting war (after the Admiralty got killed), when she could be hunting down and personally solving the responsible parties?

["Everyone" should be taken as "everyone who has picked a fight with Honor and Manticore," not "everyone and their dog" (or anything like that). Just thought I should clarify before someone harasses me on a lack of precision.]

Honor is still in command of 8th Fleet, which is the "mobile" attack fleet backing up home-fleet and Trevor's Star. It will also be the fleet that goes after the Mesan Alignment when they are found. Also, she already turned down the opportunity to be the next High Admiral in Grayson, essentially that planet's First Space Lord. In WW-II terms, do you want Patton back in DC, or at/near the front leading the artillery/tanks?
