On 8/9 RFC posted "the book is in". It is now 8/26 and still nothing in the Baen monthly bundle.

That date has been superseded. RFC actually sent it in at 1:14 PM (approx) on 8/24, two days ago. See the first post on the Snippet 2 thread.

Wrong. As textev says (look for SOV, Snippet 2) he turned the final text in on Wednesday, August 24th, around one quarter hour after midnight Eastern Daylight Time. So, the elfes at Baen have the text for only 2 working days, and have started working at it for the third day around an hour before (if I do the time zones correctly - and assuming office time at Baen starts at 9 a.m. EDT). So keep calm and stay tuned. We'll get it soon enough.

"Soon enough" is a very relative concept!

does anybody know if this is a process that takes days? weeks? I'd assumed this was a simple conversion. maybe not that simple?

baen obviously knows. would be nice if they shared that info.

A simple file conversion takes seconds. Formatting it would take longer I imagine. No more then a 3-4 hours you would think. I imagine they have a standard boilerplate legalese that goes in every book ready to go. They have to be editing it some before putting it out in the wild. That would explain the hold up. That or the guy whose job it is to convert and or post it is on vacation or something so it's stuck.

On the plus side, every hour you spend waiting for the eARC of Shadow of Victory shortens the gap between Shadow of Victory and At the Sign of Triumph by an hour.
