I am a retired electronics engineering tech, high energy.
If I was a Manticorean citizen, my preferred choice, and
had received prolong, most likely working in a R&D lab.

I would love to ride an armed merchant ship to distant stars. Look for things people want and trade for them. Not going to get rich, but a life filled with novelties. Granted much of that life is repeating the same circuit over and over, but those patters change over time and so do the places one visits.

I would probably (given that I'm a civil engineering grad who slipped over to computer programming in my mis-spent youth) have applied for a job with Skydomes.

I'll have to tell the concrete lab story some day. It's when I realized I didn't really have the temperament to be a civil engineer.
